As our first venture into the world of "blogging" we could find no better recipient than :: totally irrelevant ::  A unique mixture of design and word as art sets this site apart from others we have seen.  It didn't hurt that the site is maintained by a self-described "mexican girl that just made the big, permanent move to Vancouver".

The Vancouver Men's Chorus has been a Vancouver institution for 24 years.  Not only providing visitors with information on upcoming shows (they do two large scale shows per year), the site also provides clips from their CDs, an archive of past shows and lots more.  Well worth a visit.

Sounds & Furies Productions is a local Vancouver company producing concerts, workshops, retreats and special events.  We particularly like the diverse communities that Sounds & Furies caters to including the GLBT, women and Wiccan communities.  Well worth a visit to get the details on their upcoming concerts and a wide range of artist links.

Creative-Women is dedicated to showcasing the creative talents of amateur and professional lesbian authors, artists, poets, musicians, songwriters and more.  An excellent site that is not only full of completed works, but also provides guidance for those that are just getting starting on their artistic adventure.  Well worth a visit!

The Metropolitan Community Church of Christ The Liberator is a progressive church. This site extends MCCCTL's mission of helping all people believe that God believes in them. So many GLBT people have been told that who they are is incompatible with God and the spiritual teachings of Jesus. This is absolutely false. This website is key in reaching out to those who have been marginalized or disappointed in their churches or just looking for a vibrant and healthy faith community. Resources, News, CTL life and an interactive Prayer Requests page are some of the things that make this site worthy of the Proud! Out Loud! award.

The GaySurrey.com website not only serves the Surrey area but also the Fraser Valley and the tri-cities.  A comprehensive calendar of events, information on the Surrey Pride celebrations and other information of interest to those living in these communities make it an excellent resource worth checking out.

We always knew there was gay life outside the downtown Vancouver area and Buddys in Surrey is a prime example.  A gathering place for suburban queers, this establishment hosts numerous community events throughout the year!  So, if you live in the 'burbs or are looking for an alternative to the downtown scene Buddys is definitely worth a look!

A local group, Kings of Vancouver performs, as well as puts together drag shows, workshops, and other projects.  The group's ultimate goal is to ultimately contribute to making a healthy and positive community and for anyone that has seen them in performance knows how true that statement is!

We know, for the most part it's like talking to the converted, but we still think Stop Hate 2000 deserves more attention.  The ever-growing tribute page even includes a memorial to Aaron Webster.

A new resource for same-sex unions, GayRites, is full of interesting stuff including guides to planning a wedding and discussion forums for people to connect and ask questions.  Well worth a visit if you're planning that special day (or even dreaming when it will be legal in your neck of the woods)!

Billed as the "friendliest nightclub in London" Reflex Nightclub looks like a happening place in the Kingston area.  But not only a site to promote themselves it also has some great links to other resources for gays and lesbians visiting the London area.

We admit it!  We've always been fascinated by erotic cartoons.  I mean, what's not to like about the hyper-masculinity that is drawn into most of these characters?  David by ManofSteel doesn't disappoint!  The galleries are not very easy to find (click on the diamonds!) but once you find them, erotic cartoon lovers will not be disappointed.  There is also an x-rated version of David available Renderotica.com.

Looking for information on the world wide web can be a daunting task.  Sure there is Google and other regular search engines but to really find information of interest to the LGBT community one must use a dedicated resource.  Queer Links is one of those dedicated resources for the LGBT community worldwide.

We've said it before, we love drag queens - especially those that don't take themselves too seriously (okay, a little seriously is okay).  Rose Petal Galore not only provides the usual biography and photos but also features Drag 101 with a history of drag!

An independent publisher of books for women and the people that love them, Amazing Dreams Publishing also provides lesbian fiction, over 480 free e-cards designed by amazing artists, the top 75 lesbian movie reviews, and an online support group for women worldwide who are coming out.

Sluggo's Drum Corps Site is an interesting mix of drum corps fandom and information about airline safety.  But that is what makes the internet such a great place - take what you know (or like) and create a website!

Don't let it be said that we don't reach out to the bisexual community sometimes!  Our site this week is Bi Men Network featuring a wide assortment of resources for bisexual men, bi-curious males, gay men, and bi couples.

A self-described "renaissance man for the new millennium", Alan Bennett Ilagan's website features his writings, photographs and other tidbits that should keep you occupied for hours.  We could especially relate to "Happy Freaking Holidays" and find it especially scary that Alan's site is featured here almost six months to the day of baby Jesus' birthday in 2004.

Wow!  Occasionally a website comes along that just blows us away (no pun intended)!  Homovision is one of those websites.  When this site was nominated for our award it was described as "beautiful, clean, elegant, sexy".  We couldn't agree more.  Check it out!

Soul Mates is one of those personal web spaces full of personal photos, some poetry and a peek into the lives of two gay men in Baltimore.  Well worth a visit.

We're still reeling from the opening graphics but All Knight Access is some kind of website (and we mean that in a good way)!  Go on, we dare you - try to figure out what's going on here!

Queerplanet.com.au claims to be Australia's favourite queer ezine and based on the content we tend to believe them.  Entertainment, news, reviews, and interviews are just a few of the things you'll find.  And while it has a definite Down Under flavour there is something here for everyone no matter where you are living.

Chock full of a bit of everything, The Lavender Songmaker is a wild assortment of thoughts, links, insight, poetry and a whole lot more.  Well worth a visit!

Okay, we readily admit it - we have a fascination with bears and the bear culture.  But that isn't the real reason we've chosen Carolina Bear Lodge as our website of the week.  The real reason is it's Share-A-Bear charity which provides children with AIDS and other life-threatening diseases with stuffed teddy-bears.

FO' brothas claims to be the first reference-based online community for the same-gender loving black man.  In addition to the helpful resources, FO' brothas offers a forum which allows users to discuss topics affecting the same gender loving black male community.  Well worth a visit!

Sticking with our Asian theme, the Long Yang Club Global Village is the website of the world's largest network of gay Asian/non-Asian groups. There are over 35 Long Yang Club chapters and member groups in 4 continents around the world.

Asians & Friends Chicago claims to have been in operation for 20 years!  Wow, that in itself is good enough for us to give them our award.  But along with this long-standing resource also lies a great website including a calendar of events, message board, photos and the ubiquitous links to other resources.

Tampa Bay Lesbians is a great site for for LGBT women to connect in the  Tampa Bay and surrounding area.  We especially liked Niki's rant and hope on our return visit we hear from the other jealous girlfriend!

The home page of gay artist/writer,  Rick St Dennis, not only focuses on some of the problems of growing up in California during the last half of the 1900's and being an older gay man in California today but also offers up some light hearted fare on serious topics.

Not only is Alana Steele Miss Gay Indiana but she is also the 1st Alternative for Miss Gay America 2004.  We don't know about you but we didn't even know Miss Gay America existed.  Congrats Alana and btw, great website too!

Diesel's Dungeon is a fun romp through the eyes of a Baltimore Drag King.  We particularly liked the guide for all you would-be drag kings although we're sure the "packing" tips are used by more than just drag kings!

Not sure what a SOFFA is?  Then Divine Divan is probably not the place for you.  But if you have a transgendered man in your life this is a great place to get information and support.

Positively Positive has been designed to create awareness around the many HIV and AIDS issues and promotes messages of positive living with HIV.  Personal stories are mixed with practical information in this excellent site which is well worth the visit.

Poetry UpFront is the birth child of a gay Christian man of African descent, who is championing the equality issues of gay Christians in the UK and Africa and has invited and created the space for all people, especially gays and lesbians to express themselves from a biblical and poetic view.

A Missouri leather/levi group, Ozark Mountain Men is not only a great resource for those in the Ozarks but a role model for other local organizations.

Eroica - Breeze Vincinz is one of those sites that you could spend several hours exploring and still not have seen it all.  Lots of writing and lots of humour sum up this site very well.  But we're still trying to figure out though what he has against bus drivers!?
