From July 28 through August 14, 2009, the Pride in Art Festival - Vancouver's premiere queer arts festival - celebrates its 10th Anniversary with a mutli-faceted programme at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews in Yaletown).
The Festival challenges artists and audiences to explore the symbols and archetypes that help to build queer identities and stories. Whether dark or light, serious or whimsical, these sometimes political fables have a far reaching effect upon our collective psyche. From art exhibitions to Taiko drumming, theatrical readings to choral workshops, the Pride in Art Festival offers view points that are serious and entertaining, thought-provoking and humorous. For more information be sure to visit http://www.prideinart.ca. Tickets for all ticketed events are available through Little Sister's (1238 Davie Street), Rhizome Cafe (317 East Broadway) and Banshee Clothing (1566 Commercial Drive). 2009 Pride in Art Festival Line-upJuly 28th to August 14th Tuesday July 28th Wednesday July 29th Friday July 31st Saturday August 1st Sunday August 2nd Tuesday August 4th Wednesday August 5th Wednesday August 5th to Monday August 10th Thursday August 6th Saturday August 8th Saturday August 8th Sunday August 9th Monday August 10th Tuesday August 11th Wednesday August 12th Thursday August 13th 8:00pm Friday August 14th
