DinnerWorks Works - a New Food Experience in Vancouver!

[Editor's Note:  Our Dinnerworks experience and review was conducted independently and prior to Dinnerworks choosing to be an advertiser on GayVancouver.Net.]

Looking for a fun afternoon or evening of cooking but without all the chopping, prep work and clean-up?  DinnerWorks is the answer!

DinnerWorks PrepIn less than two hours you can assemble some fabulous ready-to-cook meals for your home freezer!

With guests in town for the weekend we were looking for some fun and different things to do - Chinatown, Gastown and Stanley Park are great but for a totally unique experience we chose to spend a couple hours indoors, socialize and create a few gourmet entrees.  Not only did we create some entrees that we could share during the long weekend with our guests but could also put in the freezer for those times when we simply did not want to cook later in the month.

After registering online we arrived at their spotless storefront complete with restaurant quality work stations ready to begin assembling our food choices.

DinnerWorks PrepThe in-laws chose flat iron steaks with citrus dipping sauce while my partner and I chose the vegetarian options of summer vegetable lasagna, zucchini, sun-dried tomato and mozzarella tarts and black bean enchiladas.

With the assistance of mother and daughter team and co-owners, Gerry and Allie, we moved from station to station assembling our meals and packaging them to take home.

And it couldn't have been simpler.  Clear recipes tell you exactly what you need to do and it is simply a matter of selecting the necessary ingredients and assembling the various dishes into either foil containers for later re-heating or in the case of the tarts & steaks, placing all of the necessary ingredients into plastic baggies for later assembly or final cooking at home.

Meal Prep at DinnerWorksIn between the assembly, we sipped on home-made lemonade and socialized with the other customers busy making their own meals at the various food prep stations.

In the end we walked out with five fabulous meals that could easily serve 4-6 people each and all for only $30 per meal!

With the Pride Parade the next day we did the final assembly of the tarts at home the night before and served one of them to a bunch of friends and family that had gathered before heading off the to Pride festivities.  The tart was a smash and made even more special as we told everyone our story of making them the day before.

And we still have another tart, the lasagna and enchiladas to enjoy another day (the in-laws took their meals back to Princeton with them in a cooler).

DinnerWorks is open Wednesday through Sunday at 102 - 1669 West Third Avenue (between Burrard and Granville Island) Visit them online or call 604.731.1185.
