We've outlined three days in Vancouver that will
ensure you see great sights, view outstanding attractions and experience an
excellent sampling of all our great city has to offer. Try out
one, two or all
three days' suggestions for yourself.
Here is day two:
Get
up early and hail a cab to Vancouver's historic Chinatown to start the day at
the 1,000 (yes, 1,000)-seat
Floata Restaurant, the largest in western Canada.
An early dim sum ensures free coffee and lower prices for
those who arrive between 7:30am and 11am to enjoy this popular Chinese roving
feast. After breakfast, take a guided tour through the
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden before walking the frenzied streets
looking for embroidered slippers or jade treasures.
Next stop: Gastown, a short cab ride west to Maple Tree Square
and a walk through this heritage area to the
Inuit Gallery, a showcase for northern
sculpture, prints, and ceremonial masks.
Hill's Native Art and Images for a Canadian Heritage are located next door
to each other.
Be sure to stop and see the famous Steam Clock as it sounds
its "Westminster chimes" whistle every 15 minutes.
A quick trip back into the West End for dinner at
Rain City Grill offers great food and an award winning selection of wines
and is guaranteed to be a memorable experience.
Then to finish the night it is off for a quiet drink and some
cool piano music at
The Oasis Pub. And for the really adventurous (and not so tired), cap
the night with some high-energy dancing at
Celebrities Night Club.
