Vancouver’s Pacific Theatre will open its 2010/2011 theatre season on September 24th with the gay themed The Busy World is Hushed.

The Busy World is Hushed tells the story of Hannah, a widowed Episcopal minister, who hires an agnostic gay man as her scholarly assistant, discovers she may have found the missing link in an estranged relationship with her wayward son. Mixing sexual politics with spiritual contradictions, her motivations are called into question when secrets from the past begin to surface.

The Busy World is Hushed

A powerful exploration of faith and fear, The Busy World is Hushed probes the passions and distortions of religion, relationships, and the human heart.

TheatreMania.com said: "…intricacies of faith—as well as issues of sexuality, love and loss—are addressed in this provocative and moving new play…a refreshing take on the overlap between religion and homosexuality."

The Busy World is Hushed
24 September - 16 October 2010
Pacific Theatre, 1440 W 12th Avenue, Vancouver
