Perhaps it was the memories of all the recent Occupy protests, but it was near impossible to feel any connection to the one percenters represented on stage last night in the Arts Club’s production of High Society.

There are a few terrific performances in the Blank Slate Theatre Productions presentation of Farragut North but its subject matter left me cold.

Rock of Ages may not know what it wants to be all the time but one thing is for certain: since it can’t pass itself off as a piece of theatre it should at least be all about the music. Unfortunately the current touring production rarely delivered on either front.
