Canadian playwright Norm Foster kicks off Gateway’s 25th anniversary season with the comedic convergence of machismo and male bonding that is The Foursome, on the MainStage October 7 – 24, 2009. But you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy the fun of a round with these four college pals.

The Foursome

From the moment Ted (Joshua Reynolds) pops open a 7am can of beer, these boys are off – exchanging jabs and one-upping each other in every way possible – sex life, career, and of course, golf skills. Donnie the “golf virgin” (Toby Berner) is an easy target for Rick (Andrew McNee), the jokester of the group (and a shameless cheat). And Cameron (David Thomson) simply worries his way around 18 holes the way he worries about the rest of his life. How the game turns out may surprise you.

Director Sarah Rodgers returns to Gateway to join Marti Wright (Set Design), Jen Darbellay (Costume Design), Jeff Harrison (Lighting Design), Patrick Pennefather (Sound Design), Andrew Cohen (Vocal Arrangement), Angela Beaulieu (Stage Manager), and Lorilyn Parker (Assistant Stage Manager) for The Foursome.
