Playhouse holiday offering not your traditional Christmas show

While Vancouver's other major theatre company presents two Christmas classics as their holiday offerings, the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company is going in a decidedly different direction as they present the hit Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels based on the 1988 movie starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin.

Review: A Chorus Line

While playing a chorus line dancer in A Chorus Line obviously means you should be able to dance, it also means being a triple threat – able to sing and act as well. And although there are only a few real triple threats in the production currently playing at The Centre in Vancouver, every single one of this young cast is singularly sensational as dancers.

The Vancouver Playhouse opens its 2009/2010 season with The Miracle Worker, in what Artistic Director Max Reimer has characterized as a season celebrating the triumphs of the human spirit.  And while The Miracle Worker indeed fits that bill, the real triumph here is the cast, led by Anna Cummer and Margot Berner.
