Where Same-Sex
Dancing is not so queer!
 Not So Strictly Ballroom
first offered same sex dance lessons in 1995.
Our goal is to create a community of social
dancers in the gay and lesbian community. We
offer dance lessons to
singles and couples, and hold classes in both the
West end and East End of Vancouver. We host dances where we practice
dancing in gay positive venues, organize groups of dancers going to
local dance events and have a demo team of dancers
available to dance at community events.
Dancers have competed at
the Gay Games in Amsterdam in 1998, and in Sydney, Australia.
Everyone is welcome at
both Monday and Saturday classes and or course, to our
dances. Come with
a friend, partner or by yourself. We believe that competence and
excellence in dancing is only achieved by learning to dance with many
people, not just one partner.
