Gay hot DJ competition launches June 3rd with Davie Village tour

From the producers of Vancouver's Next Gay Top Model comes their newest competition - Hot Gay DJ.  This new project, from Terry Costa and his Mirateca Arts, will see competititors undertake a Davie Village Tour of five Vancouver gay bars, pubs and nightclubs on Thursday, June 3rd leading up to the contest grand finale on August 2nd.

Participating in the Hot Gay DJ launch event on June 3rd are local gay clubs 1181, Celebrities Nightclub, J Lounge, Oasis and Score. Contestants in the competition will spin at the venues throughout the night with audience members voting for their favourite DJ at each location.

A $10 pass gives audience members entrance to all participating venues with no line-ups.  Proceeds from the sales of the passes will go to participating charities: Friends for Life Society, HIM (Health Initiative for Men), Qmunity (BC’s Queer Resource Centre), Team Vancouver and the Vancouver Pride Society.

The Hot Gay DJ grand finale will take place on Monday, August 2nd during Vancouver's 2010 Pride weekend celebrations.  More information on the grand finale will be released in the coming weeks.

In the summer of 2010, DJs will spin to be on top with one Vancouver DJ receiving the title of Vancouver's Hot Gay DJ!   Industry professionals, promoters and audiences will all have a chance to vote.
