British Columbia's award-winning wine country is ripe for a quick getaway http://www.gayvancouver.net/our-city/british-columbias-award-winning-wine-country-is-ripe-for-a-quick-getaway http://www.gayvancouver.net/our-city/british-columbias-award-winning-wine-country-is-ripe-for-a-quick-getaway

With British Columbia’s award-winning wine country only a four hour car trip away, there are few excuses for not taking advantage of its proximity to Vancouver for a quick getaway.  And what better way to experience the region than at the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival, named one of Canada’s best small festivals.

Theatre review: Dog Sees God has some terrific performances but is almost an hour too long http://www.gayvancouver.net/theatre-2013/theatre-review-dog-sees-god-has-some-terrific-performances-but-is-almost-an-hour-too-long http://www.gayvancouver.net/theatre-2013/theatre-review-dog-sees-god-has-some-terrific-performances-but-is-almost-an-hour-too-long Just as Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead was about to start last night, director Style Dayne joked about locking us into the theatre as he closed the doors.  With a show that should clock in around 90 minutes, the fact we were there for 150 felt at times like we really were being held prisoner.  Which is a huge shame, given some of the terrific performances from this cast.
