monday, 27 June: Suits

Postive Living BC (formerly the BC Persons With AIDS Society) presents its monthly dinner for working HIV+ gay men. Join other professionals at this social networking event at various Vancouver restaurants. This month the group meets at Steamworks in Gastown. RSVP required. Tuesday, 28 June: Beginners

Is it ever too late to come out of the closet? The ever sexy Ewan McGregor teams up with with one of Canada's national treasures, actor Christopher Plummer, in Mike Mills' new movie Beginners, currently playing at the Fifth Avenue Cinemas. Following the death of his wife, 75 year-old Hal (Plummer) comes out of the closet with the revelation of his much his much younger lover, Andy who is played by ER heart-throb Goran Visnjic. Wednesday, 29 JUne: a closer walk with patsy cline

You don't need to be a Patsy Cline fan to appreciate the work of Vancouver actor Sara-Jeanne Hosie in this tribute to one of the first country/pop cross-over stars. While this tribute may not get Cline neophytes any closer to understanding the woman behind the music and her emotional songs, one thing is for sure: you’ll definitely go crazy for Sara-Jeanne’s performance. thursday, 30 June: hershe bar - where the girls are!

Flygirl Productions present their ever-popular dance party for women featuring international Playboy playmates DJs Rhiannon & DJ Heather Van Viper plus Vancouver's own DJ Riki Rocket. We're told these women are not only talented, having played at events featuring Tiesto and Deadmau5, but they are drop-dead gorgeous too (if you're into that kind of thing). friday, 1 july: britney spears

It's Britney, bitches! What better way to celebrate Canada's day than with a Britney Spears concert. Okay, so it might not be the most patriotic way to celebrate our nation's birthday but we're pretty sure Britney got our memo and red and white will be on the fashion menu. We are a little surprised but tickets are still available online.

saturday, 2 july: the verona project

We know what you're saying ... not another Romeo and Juliet makeover. We were a little skeptical too until we saw the show last week. Helmed by Evan Frayne, recent winner of the Sam Payne Award for most promising at the recent Jessies, this is indeed a worthy makeover. Visit http://www.pacifictheatre.org for more information.

sunday, 3 july: audio teabag Tea dance

The boys from Thickset are back with another of their FREE tea dances. DJ G-Luve joins Taffi Louis with an assortment of audio oddities including old rare disco, modern electro, indie, synthpop, 80s new wave, and much more! Like all Thickset parties, while it's aimed primarily at bearish folks and their admirers, you certainly don't have to be either to attend.
