Another mixed bag this week includes both a tour of Chinatown and some Chinese dim sum, a community forum on hate crimes, some flamenco dancing and the return of the Vancouver International Film Fest.  Here are our gay choices for September 26 to October 2, 2011.

Of course, you'll want to check our Events Calendar for details of all the latest happenings around the city. You can also get our daily events feed directly on your iGoogle homepage!

Got an event? Send us the details and we'll get it added to our calendar (and maybe see it listed here in the coming weeks).

MONDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER: SUITS

It's no secret that off-duty chefs love to shop for themselves and choose from the freshest local and exotic fruits, vegetables, seafoods, and meats. And where do they go? Chinatown!  Get to know this colourful district from a culinary and cultural perspective with the entertaining and knowledgeable Robert Sung.  An event for HIV+ working men.  Call Positive Living BC at 604.893.2258 for more information.

TUESDAY, 27 SEPTEMBER: Prosecuting Hate Crimes

Prosecuting Hate Crimes: A Community Forum

Ever wondered how a hate crime is prosecuted? The panel presentation will be given by police, prosecutors, defence counsel and judges and we hope to not only inform the public but also increase the trust and cooperation between the LGBT community and the criminal justice system. Admission is free but space is limited. RSVP to sogic.bc@live.ca.

As a gathering place for the ever-growing local and national flamenco community, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival takes the audience from flamenco’s origins as a blend of cultures through to today’s continual evolution of music, song, and dance.  Through October 2nd.  Visit http://www.vancouverflamencofestival.org for more information and a listing of all the events.
