You'd think with Pride, the Outgames and the Queer Arts Festival all happening this week, choosing our must sees and dos would be easy. Well, you'd be wrong. With so much going on this is one of the hardest weeks for our picks, but we're going to do our best. Here are our gay choices for the week of July 25 - 31, 2011. Send us the details and we'll get it added to our calendar (and maybe see it listed here in the coming weeks). monday, 25 july: vancouver pride & outgames launchThe stars so rarely align with two huge events happening at the same time in our city that we couldn't pass up on this opportunity. Vancouver Pride and the 2011 Vancouver Outgames come together from Noon to 1pm on the steps of City Hall including the reading of the Pride Proclamation in Council Chambers along with a raising of the rainbow flag and a barbecue and entertainment on the lawn at City Hall. Wednesday, 27 july: 2011 vancouver outgamesWe've decided to dedicate a whole day just to the Outgames. Today there is tennis, volleyball and badminton in the morning plus poker and softball in the afternoon. Why not take some time and go cheer on the athletes that are competing. friday, 29 july: caya davie street dance partyIt's back and even bigger as the LGBTQ community and our friends take over the street for this fully licensed annual kick-off to Pride Weekend from 7pm to Midnight on Friday, July 29th. Encompassing three city blocks with roving performers, two DJ stages and a live stage that will feature a a special two-hour disco show at 10pm, this is one party you don't want to miss! sunday, 31 july: vancouver 2011 pride parade & festivalOkay, so this one was easy. Join upwards of 650,000 of your closest and dearest friends as they line the streets in Vancouver's West End as we CELEBRATE! Getting underway at Noon on Sunday, July 31, 2011 some 150 colourful floats, musical marching bands, community groups will take to the streets along Denman Street and Beach Avenue to the Sunset Beach Festival location.
