monday, 21 March: music in the morning: from russia with love

Music in the Morning continues its tradition of presenting ... well ... music in the morning.  For this Music in the Morning performance, world-famous cellist Andrés Díaz will be joined by pianist Wendy Chen, one of the most sought after chamber musicians performing on the world’s concert stages.  The concert starts with coffee at 10am and the concert at 10:30am.  Visit http://www.musicinthemorning.org for tickets and information.

Tuesday, 22 March: Special Screening: 1986 Doll & Penny's Anniversary Show

Special Screening: 1986 Doll & Penny's Anniversary ShowRelive the 80's when the shoulder pads were big and the drag was tough!  Come see never-before-seen footage from the 1986 Doll & Penny's 2nd Anniversary show hosted by Bill Monroe and featuring The Bovines.  Admission is pay what you can (recommended $10). Wednesday, 23 March: out for kicks soccer registration

With all the interest in the Major League Soccer right now, it is probably a great time to join Vancouver's LGBTQ outdoor soccer league.  Welcoming all skill levels, Out For Kicks will hold a general information session and season registration at The Fountainhead Pub today from 7-9pm. thursday, 24 March: Dining out for life

Dining Out For LifeThe annual fundraiser for Friends for Life and A Loving Spoonful returns with over 230 restaurants from Whistler to White Rock and across the Fraser Valley will contribute 25% of their sales that day to people living with HIV/AIDS.  Visit http://www.diningoutforlife.com/vancouver for a list of participating restaurants and more information.

friday, 25 March: five women wearing the same dress

Before Six Feet Under and True Blood, writer Alan Ball wrote this piece about five bridesmaids who find refuge in the sister of the bride's room during the reception.  From Meredith, the foul-mouthed pot-smoking sister to Mindy, the out-spoken Lesbian, Ball's dramedy gets some great performances from the women (and one man) of this Hazel Street Productions presentation. saturday, 26 march: motown meltdown

Motown MeltdownThis annual fundraiser for the Shooting Stars Foundation has been a perennial sell-out.  Enjoy the  nine piece band and a whole bevy of musical "celebs" in what organizers guarantee to be a stellar evening of entertainment and surprises.  Of course all proceeds benefit the work of the Shooting Stars Foundation in support of direct service AIDS agencies. sunday, 27 march: charity thai night
