monday, 18 April: vancouver international poetry festival

Poetry doesn't always get the respect it deserves so we're glad to see someone is helping to "expand the boundaries of contemporary poetry". Queer voices at the Festival include Ivan E Coyote, Billeh Nickerson and Out Loud! featuring featuring Greg Brisendine and Tara Hardy. Tuesday, 19 April: dress me up in your love

Part theatre, part installation, part fashion show, this Theatre Replacement world premiere uses garments collected from around the world to tell the stories behind the clothes and the closets they came from. Visit http://www.theatrereplacement.org for tickets and information.

Wednesday, 20 april: the graduate

Contrary to popular belief, Dustin Hoffman's character did not say "are you trying to seduce me, Mrs Robinson?" in the 1967 film. Now ranked as the seventh greatest film of all time by the American Film Institute, this classic movie makes the leap to the stage. We can only hope that the amazing soundtrack makes that leap as well and that we find out exactly what Benjamin Braddock said to Mrs Robinson. thursday, 21 April: hershe bar

The girls from Flygirl Productions are back with their first Hershe Bar for 2011. It may have taken them four months but what better way to kick-off their 10th anniversary weekend (check out Sunday below for details of their anniversary party). friday, 22 april: the wiz

Most will probably remember The Wiz as the 1978 movie with Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, but it actually started life as a musical in 1974 as The Wiz: The Super Soul Musical "Wonderful Wizard of Oz". Vancouver's Fighting Chance Productions brings the updated quest of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to Performance Works on Granville Island. saturday, 23 april: gay top model finale

Yes, it is that time already. Time to crown the next Gay Top Model in this finale at the River Rock Casino. The nine contestants will strut their stuff on stage while hosts Kyle Donaldson and Michel McDermott from Breakfast Television keep the festivities moving along. With performances by Diamond Minx, Jaylene, Kiki Lawhore, Sugarbeach and the SparklePussies, this isn't just another beauty pageant for gay men. sunday, 24 april: flygirl's 10th anniversary celebration
