Film, theatre, magic, art, dance, remembrance and ummm, Prince Poppycock. Now that's quite the week. Here are our gay choices for November 14 - 20, 2011. Of course, you'll want to check our Events Calendar for details of all the latest happenings around the city. You can also get our daily events feed directly on your iGoogle homepage! Got an event? Send us the details and we'll get it added to our calendar (and maybe see it listed here in the coming weeks). MONDAY, 14 November: Outfest Legacy ProjectIn case you missed it last week, Pacific Cinémathèque is having an encore presentation of The Outfest Legacy Project: Three Films, a program of rare and restored landmark films that document the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. Visit http://www.cinematheque.bc.ca for more information. TUESDAY, 15 November: SnowmanWe don't usually repeat ourselves but we really do think this original, edgy black comedy should be on everyone’s must-see list. Rumble Productions brings Greg MacArthur’s Snowman to the Revue Stage on Granville Island through the end of the week. Consider it (yikes!) an early Christmas present. Visit http://www.rumble.org for more information. WEDNESDAY, 16 November: Sensation of MagicVancouver magician Vitaly Beckman moves from the confines of the Havana to the more spacious Vancouver East Cultural Centre for his newest show. Covering a gamut of illusions designed by Beckman himself, we're most keen to see his ability to read newspapers from a distance of 50 feet. We're bringing our collection of Bill Tieleman columns from 24 Hours columns to see how he makes out with them. Visit http://www.sensationofmagic.com for more information. THURSDAY, 17 November: Ferrie's Sisters UnveiledThe Vancouver Mission of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence unveil portraits of its founding members by local artist John Ferrie in a fundraiser to continue the charitable work of the group. In addition to the unveiling of the original portraits, the Sisters will have prints and other items featuring Ferrie’s portraits for sale. Proceeds will support the charitable work of the Sisters and local projects focused on queers, HIV and homelessness. Visit http://www.yvrsisters.ca for more information.
