There really is no escaping the season this week, although we've done our best to find things for all you Grinches out there too. Here are our gay choices for December 12 - 18, 2011. Of course, you'll want to check our Events Calendar for details of all the latest happenings around the city. You can also get our daily events feed directly on your iGoogle homepage! Got an event? Send us the details and we'll get it added to our calendar (and maybe see it listed here in the coming weeks). MONDAY, 12 December: The Sound of MusicSure, the movie will be seen on television at least once this holiday season, but what better way to enjoy the story of Maria and the Von Trapp family live on stage! For those living in Vancouver it may seem like you've crossed the Alps yourself just to get out to the Richmond Gateway Theatre, but with tunes like "My Favourite Things" and "Edelweiss" it will be worth the trek (and without the Nazis). Visit https://www.gatewaytheatre.com for tickets and information. Looking for something else to do today? Visit our online events calendar! TUESDAY, 13 December: The Last Piece

Oh well, even when he wasn't Prince he was still churning out some great music. We've heard some rave reviews already about Prince's Welcome 2 Canada tour and with it being his first Canadian national tour in almost ten years this one is defintely for fans of his music, no matter what you want to call him. Tickets are still available online. Looking for something else to do today? Visit our online events calendar! SATURDAY, 17 December: Women's Winter Faire II

SUNDAY, 18 December: Hotel Bethlehem: A Christmas SatireFor those of you that think the Christmas season is getting a bit too serious with its politically correct posturing, here comes a show that will probably curdle the eggnog of most traditionalists. But who can't resist a show that asks that time honoured question: what if the men who defined history were idiots? Visit http://www.rubyslippers.ca for tickets and information.
