The Daniel Lapp Quartet features a stellar line-up of some of the West Coast's finest jazz musicians. With Joey Smith on bass, Don Leppard on drums, Karel Roessingh on piano and Daniel Lapp on trumpet and vocals, this quartet can swing like they were cuttin' up Birdland in 1948. And they can play it real cool, just like the California ‘50's sound while capturing a vitality and a freshness that makes the music contemporary once again.

Drawing largely from the repertoire of Chet Baker, the Daniel Lapp Quartet plays many of the hits from Chet's recordings while throwing in the occasional original tune. Songs such as ‘That Old Devil Moon’, ‘My Funny Valentine’ and ‘Let’s Get Lost’ are regulars in the DLQ songbook along with Broadway hits, Burt Bacharach's "Close To You" and Elvis Costello's "Almost Blue".
