Tops and Bottoms improv returns to its roots

Tops and Bottoms - the stage show that launched a television show - returns to its roots with performances every Monday night at the Jupiter Cafe beginning October 5th, 2009.

Tops and BottomsAccording to host David C Jones, while the show still has some of the elements of the previous version, this newest incarnation adds a new twist and higher stakes for the performers.

"The show is still divided into two halves with four hopeful Bottoms making up sketches in the first half and four professional Top players picking games at random from a hat. At the end of each show the audience still votes the ‘best’ Bottom up and the ‘weakest’ Top down. But now, if the players don’t get the votes and stay on the Bottom for four weeks they are locked out of play for six shows. If, however, they are on Top and manage to avoid being voted down for five weeks they are guaranteed an audition for the second season of the OUTtv show", said Jones.

And with no cover charge, this is one of Vancouver's best entertainment values.
