Top Chef Canada winner Dale MacKay is set to host Sunday Brunch for QMUNITY at ensemble Tap on April 29.
Following the successful partnership with QMUNITY for Stack The Rack last fall, the inaugural Top Chef Canada winner moves this latest fundraiser to ensemble Tap (eTap), his recently opened casual dining restaurant.
“Like QMUNITY, ensemble and eTap are part of the Vancouver city vibe”, said MacKay as to why he is partnering once again for another QMUNITY fundraiser. “We are similar in so many ways: we celebrate individuality, excellence and authenticity. We’re all friends, all hoping for the same things, depending on each other, having fun, being successful and doing what we love.”
The April 29th brunch, to be hosted by MacKay alongside Executive Chef Brad Hendrickson, will include a choice of brunch entrée, a fresh squeezed Mimosa and coffee plus live entertainment, raffles and door prizes.
More than just brunch though, as guests sip on their drinks and enjoy one of MacKay’s creations, they will also be supporting the work of QMUNITY with 25% of proceeds and $1 from each drink special purchased during the event donated to support QMUNITY, BC’s Queer Resource Centre.
“QMUNITY is once again excited Top Chef Dale McKay will be opening his doors to Vancouver's queer community and our allies,” said QMUNITY Board Chair Jeffrey Preiss. “I love the fact we will be sitting communally at brunch. It is a great way to bring together the diversity of our city and realize that, as a family, we have a joint responsibility to support QMUNITY's continuing work.”
Weekend brunch for MacKay and his crew at eTap is a new addition to the modern comfort food (and beer) that his newest restaurant has already become known for with the menu items that include crispy bacon pancakes and MacKay’s now famous pulled pork paired with poached eggs and barbeque beans.
