Taking it to the Maxx for Out In Schools and the LOUD Foundation

Is the world ready for a gay superhero?  We're about to find out as online Vancouver t-shirt and baseball cap retailer MOGO Wear hosts a coming out party of sorts for MOGOMaxx, their superhero spokesperson and gay rights advocate, in support of Out In Schools and the LOUD Foundation.

With the help of a Facebook page and Twitter feed, MOGOMaxx will help GLBT teens deal with issues such as bullying in what, according to MOGO Wear President Teresa Leung, is designed to be a "a positive environment where teens and adult survivors of bullying can interact and share solutions and success stories".

MOGOMaxx's coming out party will take place during the online clothiers launch of its spring/summer collection at J Lounge on April 28, 2011.  Along with the fashion show, the evening will also include a short film from Out In Schools and entertainment from Vancouver's queer improvisational troupe The Bobbers plus performances from Tyrell Witherspoon and Matthew Presidente.

Tickets to the launch event, with proceeds going to support the work of Out In Schools and the LOUD Foundation, are regularly $20, but use the code GAYVANCOUVER at check-out and you will get them for just $15.
