From its annual Starry Night to Motown Meltdown, Jazilla, Gambado!, undercover and Fit For A Queen, the Shooting Stars Foundation has been raising money for people living with HIV/AIDS since 1985.
Twenty-five years ago the Arts Club on Granville Island hosted the very first Shooting Stars Foundation Starry Night. Since its inception, this variety show has grown to be the signature event of the Shooting Stars Foundation and is part of an annual roster of six unique concerts and events. This magical, musical smorgasbord has inspired devoted fans to return year after year, and continues to win a whole legion of new ones. The 25th anniversary edition, on stage at the Stanley Theatre on November 15, 2010, will be hosted by the “fabulously funny” Joan-E with a line-up of local talent that will include Jim Byrnes, Sibel Thrasher, Jane Mortifee, UHF (Shari Ulrich, Bill Henderson, Roy Forbes), Kim Kuzma and many more.
