With apologies to Irving Berlin, lord help the mister who comes between us and our sisters, as Vancouver's drag-nuns once again help kick-start the gayest week of the year.
"As our wimples have grown, so has our Abbey. We’d love the community to come experience all that our Members and friends have to offer on this amazing night of entertainment," said their Reverend Mother, Novice Sister Merry Q. Contrary. “Holy crap, are we ever going to have a great night!" commented Novice Sister Ethica Slut. "We’re welcoming back some of our favourite performing friends, plus we’ve got prizes, a wicked silent auction, and a bunch of sexy new members for y’all to meet.” The Vancouver Mission of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a group of 21st Century queer drag nuns. They are a federally-registered charity and the only active Canadian mission of the international Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The Sisters’ mission is to promulgate universal joy, and expiate stigmatic guilt. They host a weekly community drop-in every Friday evening called S'Habit, and regularly attend community events and rallies to lend their support and offer blessings. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sisters’ community grants fund that supports the charitable work of the Abbey and local projects focused on queers, HIV and homelessness. 2nd Annual Rainbow Kick Off |
