Local businesses support Out In Schools this Saturday

Get out the credit cards!  On Saturday, October 23rd local businesses will donate a portion of sales to Out In Schools to help them reach even more students this school year.

OUT! and aboutThis Saturday, October 23, 2010  a number of local businesses have joined together to support LGBTQ youth by donating partial proceeds to Out in Schools. 

By supporting these businesses you can send an Out in Schools facilitator to rural regions of British Columbia and to let British Columbia’s LGBTQ youth know that they are not alone!

 

Out In Schools

Homophobia and bullying are serious issues facing today's youth, particularly queer youth. By bringing queer films to local high schools to facilitate discussion with youth on bullying, homophobia and stereotypes, Out In Schools gives youth a safe space to explore these issues. Out In Schools aims to increase understanding through education to combat the issues threatening the safety of our classrooms for all students.
