Lion King cast to host YouthCO & NCBWF benefit

Members from the cast of the national tour of Disney’s The Lion King, currently on stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, are set to host a benefit cabaret on July 26th to raise funds for Youth Community Outreach AIDS Society (YouthCO) and the National Congress of Black Women Foundation (NCBWF).

Conceived by Vancouver local and Broadway entertainer, Ian Yuri Gardner, the show will feature Wendy Bollard and a host of international and Broadway talent including Vusi Mhlongo, Kendra Moore, LaShonda Reese, Sophia Stevens, Omari Tau, Frank Wright II and other members of Disney’s The Lion King.

The event will feature solo and ensemble music, dance and audience interactive numbers in a setting of a 1930s/40s speakeasy. They will also have an opportunity to win a variety of door prizes including tickets to Disney's The Lion King at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Youth Community Outreach AIDS Society (YouthCO) is Canada’s first youth-driven organization leading the HIV and HepC movement through peer education, support, and shared leadership. The National Congress of Black Women Foundation works in partnership with other organizations and individuals who support the goals and objectives of reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS infection and enhancing the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
