Spend 69 seconds with Vancouver activist, volunteer and 2010 Vancouver Pride Parade Grand Marshall (Local Hero), Barb Snelgrove.

MEET barb snelgrove

A long time fixture in Vancouver’s LGTB community, Barb Snelgrove has spent the last 13 years donating tens of thousands of hours to individuals and organizations both as a volunteer and mentor.

She has worked for various charitable organizations and is a past Board member of the Vancouver Pride Society, Qmunity (formerly LGTB Centre), Dogwood Monarchist Society, IDKE Vancouver and the Vancouver Interpride Conference. She is currently the 2010 DMS GLBT Ambassador and sits on the Vancouver City Hall LGTBQ Advisory Committee.

Better known as “megamouthmedia” you know her as the MC of many well known community events such as the Pride Festival stage, Numbers Idol and The Feud. She has offered up her hosting services for countless charity events including The Gathering Place Block party, CiTr Radio & GLASS Youth Choir Fundraisers, and the Diorama Party.

Barb’s undying enthusiasm and selfless commitment to her community saw her awarded the 2008 VPS Outstanding Community member award and she was recently announced as the 2010 Vancouver Pride Parade (Local Hero) Grand Marshal.
