MEET TommyD (Tommy Dolanjski)

Having been an integral part in Vancouver’s gay scene for the past 6 years, Tommy serves as our executive producer of all things The Flame & The Dame (TFD). Taking charge of all things creative, his passion and drive for promotions and event production is #1 in his life.

Born and raised in Vancouver, he has worked in every major venue in town including Celebrities, Majestic, Pulse Nightclub, The Junction Pub, J Lounge, The Commodore Ballroom, The Scotiabank Dance Centre & The Odyssey.

He has also been on the executive for the non profit group The Dogwood Monarchist Society as it’s Vice-President for the past two years, and is a strong supporter of many charities in Vancouver.

03Your hero.

There was a promoter named Brent who I never met who passed away years ago but I’ve heard stories about him from people in town, managers, dj’s, bookers when I started and said I was from Vancouver. And I sort of look up to him even though I’ve never met him. I always think about if he was still around I would’ve wanted him to mentor me, and then my friend who knew him well told me that in a way he probably was. He created some of the biggest shows, and worked with the biggest names and did it for years.  I only got to experience one of his events (the last ski week he did, the first I went to) and it was incredible, I’ll never forget it. I still kind of work with that formula. He had everything there. I don’t even know what he looks like to be honest.
