Do you know the real story behind the infamous kissing incident at Joe’s Café or the other rich Lesbian history of Commercial Drive? Locals Pat Hogan and Jolene Cumming want to tell you about it!
Leading the walk are historical interpreter Jolene Cumming, who specializes in the history of early Vancouver women, and Pat Hogan a Vancouver event organizer and business owner specializing in producing and fundraising for lesbian/womyn's events, concerts and dance events. Part of Celebrate Queer Vancouver, this Commercial Drive tour is part of the Festival’s guided history walks that have included Chinatown, Strathcona and the Davie Village. Celebrate Queer Vancouver showcases film, visual art, community dialogue and – at the centre of it all – a public art installation to engage and celebrate the dynamic experiences and achievements of Vancouver’s queer communities. Celebrate Queer Vancouver culminates with the 23rd Annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival. Lesbian Landmarks: Historical Walking Tour of Commercial Drive |
