Wednesday, 04 August 2010

The 2010 Vancouver Queer Film Festival will play host to Chosen Family Portraits which will form part of the next Queer History Project community-based initiative.

Chosen Family PortraitsDuring the eleven days of the Festival (August 12-22, 2010), the Queer History Project will have a mobile portrait studio set-up at various Festival venues where Queer History Project artist-in-residence, photographer Sarah Race, will photograph portraits to celebrate and document the history of festival-goers chosen families in whatever form they might take.

The portraits will be unveiled at a special Queer History Celebration in July 2011 as part of a larger community public art installation in the Davie Village that is set to coincide with the 2011 Vancouver Outgames.
